Mission House Dedication
On May 22, 2024, Titus and other workers began the construction of the mission house. Nine months later we dedicated the house on March 1st. There were about 80 people in attendance, and we were excited that our daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and Colin, were able to attend from their home in Abu Dhabi. It was a great evening of fellowship with singing, a devotion, and a meal. This mission house is a testimony of our desire to continue to be a part of the efforts to bring others to Christ in Thailand. We’re hoping to also inspire others to join us in Thailand to help share the gospel and be an encouragement to the Christians there.
Patang Muser Bible Training
One thing that has become more obvious to us is that many of the people in the villages we work in do not know how to read. Our staff has worked on teaching them to read for several years. Having said that, it becomes easier to understand why these Christians need to hear what God’s Word says.
After the Gethsemane children got out of school on Friday, January 24th, we started the four hour journey to the village of Patang Muser. On Saturday morning, Bible teaching began with Steve using James 3:1 to share the responsibility of teachers not to lead people away from God’s Word with their own words. During the day many verses of Scripture were used to teach what the Bible says on baptism and communion. There were over 50 people from the villages of LaMu Nai, Na Khrai, and Patang Muser in attendance. Under the Son Ministries supports evangelists in these three villages. They have expressed the desire to make this a yearly event.
Antioch Church Bible Seminar
The second opportunity we had to hold Bible training during our time in Thailand was on February 10-12 at Antioch Church. This meeting is designed more for church leaders, with many of the men traveling several hours to attend. The theme for this year’s seminar was Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
The speakers for this year were Mike Flinchum and Steve Sherry. All the messages were translated from either English or Thai to the Lahu language. With the theme being in Romans, Steve started a chapter-by-chapter study of the book. Thank you to Jeremy Cobb for providing these messages. Mike used the theme to focus on the qualities of the faithful, unashamed servant in God’s Kingdom. The tribal groups represented by the nearly 40 in attendance were Lahu Shehleh, Black Lahu, Red Lahu, and Ahka.
Fundraising Events
Our fundraising season has begun. We were happy for the down time we had from late December through March. We will be participating in the Spring Craft Fair this year at the Maryville Community Center on Saturday, April 5th. We will have new Spring products and some new items from Thailand available. The hours will be 9 am to 2 pm.
At this time, we are taking pre-orders for geraniums. These will be delivered to our house on May 8th. We still have red, hot pink, and crimson colors available. If you are wanting to order any, please contact us soon by calling 660-254-5775 or 660-254-8487. They are going quickly!
Our first Pop-up Shop for the year will also be during geranium delivery from May 8th through May 11th. Check out our Wonderfully Made Facebook page for upcoming dates of fundraising events. Thank you for your continued support!
